World Famous for Lord Jagannath: Puri Jagannath Temple

The Jagannath Temple of Puri is dedicated to Lord Jagannath. . It is one of the char dham pilgrimage site for Hindus. The Jagannath temple was built in the 11th century during the era of the Eastern Ganga dynasty’s King Anantavarman Chodaganga Deva.

Rath Yatra of Puri Jagannath temple is world famous. Other religion people or the Non-Hindu is not allowed inside the temple. The Prasad of this temple known as ABADHA is also famous and the dining in the temple known as Anand Bazaar is also famous.

According to ritual it is said that the chakra and flags at the top shikhara of Puri temple denotes that Jagannath is within the building. One of the grandest events associated with the Lord Jagannath is Naba Kalabera which takes place when one lunar month of Ashadha is followed by another lunar month of Aashadha.
